Preschool Cinco de Mayo Party

So this year Wills was in a preschool co-op with 4 of his friends... Audrey, Clark, Jane, and Sydney. He had a great 1st semester of school (we did it Jan. through May). The last week was at our house, so Wills helped me make a pinata and maracas for the party. The pinata was a cheater version (after paper mache-ing the maracas I was over it, so we made the pinata by wrapping balls of newspaper (& of course candy & those little plastic jumping frog things) in the shape of a big ball and then taped paper cones all around and covered it in tissue paper to make it look like the real deal. :) When you asked Wills what was inside the pinata (expecting to hear "candy!"), he would say "newspaper, candy & frogs!". The kids danced to mariachi music, learned some spanish words, ate nachos for their snack, and then spent 30 minutes trying to pummel the pinata with a lacrosse stick. They had an absolute blast! We'll miss preschool this summer! Can't wait til next year!

Classic Hannah with a little something new :)

A scrunched nose is a classic Hannah look. And the "piggys" (as we call her pigtails) are brand new today. Her first pig tails. :) My heart melted when I put them in. I think they are ridiculously adorable. And my little girl is growing up right before my very eyes.

*And since I'm catching up on blogging and pre-dating all the posts, I can also note here that they were her last "piggys". That girl won't let me put ANYTHING in her hair. She lets other people put things in her hair, but not me. So they were pretty short lived. :)

Spring Break 2010 - Utah

Wills on Skis! :)

So our whole little family headed to Utah for Spring Break to meet up with my whole larger family and to go skiing! So Wills skied for the first time and absolutely loved it! He wanted to "catch my cousins" the whole time (Elle, Kate, Gray & Thompson), so he just wanted to fly down the mountain. He skied 2 days - the 1st day with his cousins, First between mom's and dad's legs, but by the end he wanted to "go myself", so he would ski about 15 to 20 feet, we would catch him, and then he would do it again. Anytime he (or any of his cousins) got a little discouraged/tired/refused to move, Grandpa would suddenly show up behind them with a big smile and the choice of a cookie or dots. Wills declared he didn't like cookies, but the dots did the trick every single time. Thank you Grandpa! And thanks to all of Wills' cousins for their great examples of how fun skiing is!

And then the 2nd day, Wills skied with mom & dad. The snow was coming down and Wills was loving it. And I have to say I've never had more fun in my life. I always knew there would be a day when I would have to trade my own selfish ski time for a sore back from hunching over a small child all day on a bunny hill and I'd put in my dues. But it was one of the greatest, most fun times skiing I've ever had... with Wills and Olivier skiing by my side (or between my legs :) ). I just wish little Hannah could've come for just one run. I can't wait until next year when she can join us. Wills - you were an absolute all-star and mommy had the time of her life with you. I kept telling you how much fun I was having with you as we rode up the lift together. You loved absolutely every minute of it - and so did I. I kept thinking about how I must have felt the way Grandpa did when he took me skiing for the first time at your age - 2 1/2. I love you and am so proud of you!

We have a mouse... named Wills :)

Apparently Wills was hungry. He's just learned that he can easily open up the refrigerator and take things out. So that's exactly what he did. I was laughing too hard to discipline him much (or at all). He does love cheese. :) After I cut all the bite marks out there wasn't much cheese left. He had quite a helping. :)

Happy 1st Birthday to Hannah!

"Hannah Buns"

Our little Hannah has somehow turned 1! What a precious little addition to our family. We all consider her our best friend. Wills makes sure that when he gets a treat, Hannah does too. You are our little "Hannah Buns" and "Monchichi" and "Fuzzy Head" - all terms of absolute endearment. Daddy & Wills and I all melt with your cuddles and blown kisses. You are sweet and patient and loving. You carry your baby doll around and give her kisses. And you love to put any bag/purse on your arm and crawl everywhere with it. You're determined to keep up with your brother Wills and so have figured out how to climb almost everywhere he does. And your laugh is irreplaceable. We love you with all of our hearts. Happy Birthday Monchichi!

Daddy loves his little girl

So admittedly I was a little nervous that Olivier might always be a little partial to our son Wills and less so to our little girl on the way. Boy was I wrong! He's absolutely and completely taken by our little Hannah. The day we brought her home I went upstairs and grabbed my favorite swaddling blanket of Wills, wrapped her in it and laid her in her crib. About 10 minutes later Olivier walked in and asked me why on earth she was wrapped in a blue blanket covered in green alligators. "She needs to be in pink." So I went and grabbed one of her pink blankets... he was right. Much better. I absolutely love her in pink.

Arrival of Hannah Mary Quinn

So we finally got our small 9 pounder... Miss Hannah Mary Quinn arrived on Feb 17th at 4:16pm and came in at 9lbs. 1oz. and 20 1/2 inches long (a dainty thing compared to her big brother Wills!) And we're totally and completely in love again...

Heading to the hospital

Wills investigates & learns "to be soft". He's absolutely in love...
