Daddy loves his little girl

So admittedly I was a little nervous that Olivier might always be a little partial to our son Wills and less so to our little girl on the way. Boy was I wrong! He's absolutely and completely taken by our little Hannah. The day we brought her home I went upstairs and grabbed my favorite swaddling blanket of Wills, wrapped her in it and laid her in her crib. About 10 minutes later Olivier walked in and asked me why on earth she was wrapped in a blue blanket covered in green alligators. "She needs to be in pink." So I went and grabbed one of her pink blankets... he was right. Much better. I absolutely love her in pink.

Arrival of Hannah Mary Quinn

So we finally got our small 9 pounder... Miss Hannah Mary Quinn arrived on Feb 17th at 4:16pm and came in at 9lbs. 1oz. and 20 1/2 inches long (a dainty thing compared to her big brother Wills!) And we're totally and completely in love again...

Wills meets his new baby sister & gives her his signature hug ("the lean-in")

Wills investigates & learns "to be soft". He's absolutely in love...

For those of you who know me well... I apologize!

So I struggle with blogging - just like I struggle with anything that has to do with keeping in touch with anyone in any way, shape or form. I realize I'm not telling any of you anything that you don't know already. You've all known this about me as long as you've known me. And as much as I'd like to change, I somehow only seem to get worse at it. And then tonight, for the first time, I realized that people (my great friends who love me despite my failure at keeping touch) have actually left comments on my blog - and some of them are from almost a year ago - and this is the first time I've seen any of the comments! You are all so sweet to comment and I'm so sad that I didn't see any of them until now! So, for you, the few who have left comments and who have probably given up on checking my blog to see if I have any new posts, I promise to improve on adding new posts more regularly. I love you all and appreciate all of your friendships more than you'll ever know! Much love. erin

Carving the Pumpkin

Wills' big debut with pumpkin carving came off without a hitch. We all had a ball. And very true to his little nature, Wills was our "big helper". He loves to help! (more on that later)

We're Totally Obsessed

People used to tell me (before I had Wills) that they really couldn't describe how much they love their kids. I guess there's some truth to that, but I think it's more like if you did express it, people would think that you're a little crazy and kind of a stalker. Because as we have personally found, we are completely and totally obsessed with Wills. I mean, seriously, besides his music teacher (we love you Sandra!), to whom he causes, we'll say, a bit of a major disturbance for every week in class (despite all pep talks in the car on the way there & discussions about our behavior at class in the car on the way back - and, no, he doesn't speak English yet, these are pretty much one-way discussions), who on earth wouldn't be madly in love with this kid? Because we definitely and certainly are!

The day before Halloween:

Wills playing with the shakers (making music of course!) :)

And his new balancing act - he's very proud of himself! :)
